ASCA Level 4 · World Aquatics · CBC Kenya Curriculum
Coach Japheth Onkoba builds Kenya's next generation of competitive swimmers — from first stroke to national team selection.
The Coach
Coach Japheth Onkoba Ogeto is one of Kenya's leading figures in swimming development — an ASCA Level 4 certified coach, the highest credential awarded by the American Swimming Coaches Association. With over a decade of experience, his approach is built on long-term athlete development, technical excellence, and a deep belief that swimming belongs to every Kenyan.
His training methodology is aligned with World Aquatics standards, with a sharp focus on the 10 to 14 age group where technical foundations shape lifelong performance. He has built four integrated organizations that together connect athlete development, equipment supply, and coach education under one vision.
His goal: to build the next generation of Kenyan swimmers capable of competing on the world stage.

My growth as an athlete has been transformative. Coach Japheth's mentorship improved my physical performance and instilled the discipline required for elite sports. My goal is now to represent Kenya at the Olympic Games.
I can now swim all four strokes competitively. Coach Japheth pushed me to my limits and I earned certification in every single one of the 5 galas I participated in this season.
I successfully clocked Level 2 times in three major galas. That achievement officially places me on the path to securing a spot on the Kenya National Swim Team. I credit these results directly to Coach Japheth's specialized training.
Starting from scratch was hard, but I went from novice to Elite Level — mastering the Individual Medley, diving, and tumble turns. 1st Gala: Gold in the 25m Freestyle in 20.49. Thank you, Coach Japheth, for making me the athlete I am today.
